Optical Brightener Masterbatch
Converts UV light into visible light for a brighter, more vivid white in white plastic products and films.
Whiter, brighter surfaces.
Optical brighteners are additives used to achieve a brighter, more vivid white appearance in white plastic products and films. By converting UV light into visible light, they make the surface look whiter and more brilliant.
They are typically used at a rate of 1–2%. They also offer a cost advantage by reducing the need for white concentrate.
From invisible light to visible white
-
Absorbs UV light
The additive captures invisible ultraviolet light from its surroundings.
-
Emits visible light
It re-emits the captured energy as visible light.
-
Whiter surface
The surface looks whiter and brighter; less white concentrate is needed.
