Chilled food packaging and greenhouse films face the same problem: fogging on the film surface. Anti-fog additives solve this problem within the film itself.
In food packaging
In flexible packaging films for chilled food products, anti-fog additives are critical for high clarity and for keeping food fresh. By preventing fogging on the film surface, they improve optical clarity and enhance the shelf appeal of products.
In agricultural films
Agricultural films used in greenhouses or tunnels become saturated with water vapor rising from the soil and plants. This vapor condenses on the cold film surface and causes fogging.
Fog reduces the transmission of sunlight through the film; falling droplets increase the risk of disease.
Water droplets falling onto plants also increase the risk of fungal and other diseases.
Düderi anti-fog masterbatch
Düderi anti-fog masterbatches prevent fogging on the film surface, allowing water to spread as a uniform, transparent layer. They are formulated at high concentration in polyolefin carrier resins and produced using twin-screw extrusion technology.
In this process, liquid anti-fog additives are effectively blended with the molten plastic; a specific screw design and optimized process parameters guarantee homogeneous dispersion of the additive. Suitable for both monolayer and multilayer films, the product delivers strong results in cold fog tests.
Key advantages
- Keeps food fresh for longer
- Enhances visual appeal
- Keeps packaging transparent
- Eliminates fogging
- Provides better sunlight transmission in greenhouses
